When Mabeline joined the Free Rein herd in August 2023, her ribs stuck out and her poor coat confirmed poor health due to a lack of nutrition. Within two months, her shiny coat had returned, and her ribs were no longer prominent. Although gentle with humans, Mabeline soon became the herd’s self-appointed alpha mare, who is protective of her neighbors and territorial about her stall and food. At age 29, this spunky little registered Quarter Horse mare has really bounced back – and wow!
