Governor was born in a holding facility on Modoc National Forest land in Northern California. He was initially rescued by Mary Behrens, CEO of Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center. At 2.5 years old, Governor moved to Free Rein to begin training. He quickly earned a reputation as a surefooted and playful mustang with potential for competition riding and trail riding. He was adopted in summer 2020 by a Free Rein volunteer and now lives in North Carolina.
